The type of personal information we collect:

From time to time as part of running our business, we collect and use certain personal information about individuals with whom we have contact in particular customers, potential customers, suppliers and other third parties with whom we do business (we refer to such individuals in this policy as “you” or “your” or “contacts”)

  • Clients and potential clients, Visitors: Personal identifiers, name, email address, organisation name, job title and telephone number where you have provided it. An address is required, at times for conference registration or billing purposes.

  • Advisors/third party suppliers: Personal identifiers, contacts and characteristics (for example, name, place of work, job title and contact details)

We may collect, store and use the following kinds of personal data:

  • Information on your visits and interaction with Causeway Sensors website/social media platforms

  • Information that you provide to register for an event or subscribing for website/email communications.

 We do not source any personal data from third party vendors.

 

How we get the personal information and why we have it:

Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons:

  • Information you provide – the information you provide where you or your organisation provides to us or receives services from us, or when you get in touch with us, for instance registering by emailing us, telephone us, if we meet you at a networking event/exhibition and you provide your business card.

  • Information from a solicitor or insurer – if you are a member of the general public and you make a claim against us, your solicitor or insurer may pass us your contact details.

  • Information from publicly available sources- we may occasionally obtain limited personal information from the internet or from sources such as

  • Information related to your use of our website and communications- we will only collect anonymised data on visitors who are not logged in to the website if they consent to our cookie policy and may collect data on email opens and click from users who have consented to receiving these emails.

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the lawful bases we rely on for processing this information are:

(a) Your consent – you have signed up to receive information in person or online, you are able to remove your consent at any time. You can do this by contacting our Data Protection Officer

(b) Business Development – as a business we do not conduct major marketing campaigns using personal information. We do, however, from time to time use limited personal information (business contact details) to get in touch with existing and potential clients in order to promote our services and build relationships and to develop and manage existing relationships. For example we use Linked in, phone calls and emails to invite clients to events

(c) We have a legal obligation – to the extent we are required to do so by law, in connection with any legal proceedings or prospective legal proceedings or to establish exercise or defend our legal rights.

(d) Managing accounts and other internal administrative purposes – we process personal information in relation to setting up and managing accounts with customers and suppliers.

Where we share personal information with third parties, where possible, we generally have contracts in place with such third parties, which ensures that they will protect your general information and not use it for any purposes beyond delivering services to us.

How we store your personal information:

We do not pass on your personal information to other parties. We take reasonable precautions to prevent the loss, misuse, or alteration of your personal data. However, over the internet data transmission is of its nature insecure and we are unable to guarantee the security of data transmitted via the internet. Your information is securely stored. Appropriate safeguards are in place to protect the security of your data. We only use external IT services to support this processing, which are either located within the European Union or have security measures in place, such as compliance with EU-US Privacy Shield Framework.

How long do we keep your data:

If the information we hold relates to commercial services we provided or were provided to us, we are required under law to keep basic personal data (name, address, contact details) for a minimum of 6 years.

We keep your information that we use for marketing purposes until you notify us that you no longer wish to receive this information by selecting “unsubscribe” option on any of our mailings.
